Integrated power diagnostics (ipd) internship
This was my very first internship experience. I had just decided to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering with University of Southampton. Prior to semester starting I had some downtime and decided to gain valuable working experience with an engineering company.

IPD was an engineering company providing electrical solutions for their clients. During my internship, they were working on a relay retrofit project for an MTBE power plant. I was given the responsibility to create and edit CAD drawings for the single and three line diagrams during the project planning phase. It was a steep learning curve as I had to learn CAD software on the fly with no prior experience. I was grate to also be given the opportunity to tag along the technicians during their site visit and understanding the importance of safety procedures and SOP to minimize risk.

IPD was also a relatively small company and thus allowed me to participate in various meetings and design process. I got to form personal connections with all the members of the company and was given the opportunity to tag long and help out in their various work. This experience further cements my decision to pursue my career as an engineer.
